Settling In

| My first day in Munich, you can tell I only got one and a half hours of sleep on the plane. This is in front of the Neues Rathaus in Marienplatz. |
Munich is a beautiful city. It is really clean, and being that my only experience with a city is New York (and never for more than a few days at a time every few years) so every time I compare Munich to "cities" New York is a safe assumption. Also none of the buildings are super tall. I've only seen a handful of buildings above eight stories. I learned from Prof. Söder (the program director) that when all of the major German cities were rebuilding from the war, the northern protestant cities decided to change things in order to update for the future. Munich, being in the very catholic south, decided that tradition is best and decided not to update for the future. So Munich has stayed very much the same.
I've settled in my room, but I am not going to upload any pictures of it until I have it clean. With past behavior predicting future behavior, you might never see any pictures. :)
I am just finishing up my first week of orientation out of a total of three weeks. It is really cold here. For the past week it has snowed more nights than not, and when I go out I wear a scarf, hat, and gloves. I'll attach some pictures to the bottom of the post, so that you can see.

| Also somewhere by Marienplatz while on an informal tour organized by my study abroad program. I think it is Alter Peter (Old Peter - a Catholic Church) |
Wiedersehen!
